September saw members of Randori SKC travel to Japan!
For most members it was their first time visiting the country, and there was plenty of tourism!
However, all were attending for the HDKI International Cup and Seminars.
Prior to commencing, they attended two excellent seminars in Tokyo with Shinji Nagaki Sensei and Koji Okumachi Sensei, both phenomenal!
At the HDKI Invitational itself, sessions were led by Scott Langley Sensei, Guy Brodeur Sensei, and Shinichiro Takenoshita Sensei, Christian Øygarden Sensei, JD Swanson Sensei, Ross Stewart Sensei, and our very own Stuart Amos Sensei. All sessions were inspiring and everyone took a lot out of it.
Onto the Cup itself, and members took home many medals representing HDKI GB:
Stuart Amos Sensei – World Champion (kata), World Champion (team kumite), Bronze (kumite)
Joe – Silver (kata), Bronze (team kumite)
Ana – World Champion (team kata), Bronze (kata)
Ren – Bronze (team kumite)
In addition, both Paul and Tom successfully graded in front of a highly experienced panel after two full days of training (and the seminars in Tokyo before!).
Overall, an amazing time was had by all, and some are already planning an imminent return trip!
